Two persons were killed and three others, including two teenage girls, sustained serious injuries, when the car in which they were travelling turned turtle near Kalhatti on Ooty-Mysore Road here today.
The mishap occurred when the five, hailing from Bengaluru, were returning home after attending a marriage here.
The driver lost control of the vehicle as the brakes failed and the car overturned at 36th hairpin bend, resulting in the death of Vasudevan (55) and Ramesh (50), police said.
Three others sustained serious injuries and had been admitted to the Government Hospital here.
