Two killed, five injured in Nagaland accident

At least two persons, including a woman, were killed and five others sustained injuries as the vehicle in which they were travelling, plunged into a deep gorge on NH-61 near Botsa under Kohima district, a police official said.

The vehicle heading to Suruhoto from Dimapur in Zunheboto district with 10 persons, including the driver, yesterday rolled down about 150 feet into a gorge killing two persons on the spot, the official said.

The dead have been identified as Vikheto and Hanjila Yimchungru.

A female student identified as Leena was rushed to Kohima hospital with serious injuries while four others were discharged after being provided with first aid at Botsa Health Centre. Two other passengers escaped unhurt, the official said.
 

The official said that the accident occurred due to drunk driving and the driver has been arrested.
