Three persons were today killed when two rival groups clashed in village Badagaon in Maholi area here, police said.
The incident took place this evening when Jitendra Mishra (35), who entered with sitting village head Harvansh alias Bhurey Singh clashed, they said.
The two sides met at a police station and just after meeting at both groups clashed.
Harvansh Singh his sons Anoop, Sujit brother Munna Singh and his aides Satish, Virendra, Pradeep, Pushkar and over dozen people started beating and firing on Jitendra Mishra and his family members.
Over 50 rounds were fired in which Jitendra, Sunderlal (45) and Lalji(40) died.
Four others also injured are out of danger, police said.
Superintendent of Police, Sitapur Rajesh Krisna told incident happened outside police station.
Stringent action will be taken against all accused under gangster act and if involvement of police found then they will be punished as per law, added SP.
Meanwhile force is deployed and situation in village is under control, SP said.
