A woman, identified as Sumitra Devi, was killed on the spot at Pipratand village and three of her family members, including her husband, suffered serious injuries, the police said.
All of them were admitted to the Katkumsandi Block hospital, police said.
They were going to the hospital for check-up of their ailing children when the tragedy occured, police said.
In the second incident at Keredari, one Shanti Devi died and one person was injured when the thunderbolt struck them when they were engaged in paddy transplantation.
