Two persons were killed and three injured when a lorry collided with a tractor in the district today, police said.
The mishap occurred in Veduruwada village when the lorry was headed to Atchuthapuram, Sub Inspector G Appa Rao of Atchuthapuram police station said.
Five people were going on the tractor to Panchadarla from Atchuthapuram when there was a collision between the two vehicles, he said.

Police said the lorry driver was detained and investigations were underway.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed anguish over the deaths in the accident and directed officials to provide necessary medical treatment to the injured persons, a release from his office stated.
