Two killed in road mishap in MP

Two persons, including a teenage girl, were today killed and nine others injured in a road mishap in Raisen district, police said.

The accident took place when a private bus ferrying passengers veered off a highway under Sultanpur police station area and and fell into a gorge in the adjoining district, some 100 km from here.

Two of the passengers were killed. They were identified as Shobha (18), a native of Mandla district, and Rewa Das (30), a resident of Seoni district, Raisen district superintendent of police J S Rajput told PTI.

Nine others were injured and admitted to a hospital in Bhopal, he said.
 

It appears the bus driver dozed off at the wheel leading to the accident, the SP added.

The bus was on its way to Bhopal from Mandla.
