Two killed, three injured in tanker-auto collision

Two persons were killed while three others seriously injured today when an autorickshaw collided head-on with a speeding oil tanker here, a police official said.

The collision took place on NH-83 near Kandi village under Chandauti police station, 7 km from here in the district. The place is around 7 kilometres north from Gaya town, police said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Law and Order, Satish Kumar said the autorickshaw collided with the empty petroleum tanker which was travelling at high speed. The rickshaw was trapped beneath the tanker, killing two people on the spot.

The injured were admitted to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital.
 

Meanwhile, irate locals blocked the highway near the accident spot for some time alleging unchecked rash driving. They blockade was lifted after police personnel assured them of action.
