Two persons died while two others seriously injured when a truck, in which they were travelling in, felling into a 200-metre deep gorge near Sanwal in Chamba district, a senior police official said here today.
The dead had been identified as Manohar Lal and Sant Ram, while the injured as Karam Chand and Pratap, all of them belong to Sanwal area, Chamba Superintendent of Police D K Chaudhary said here.
The accident happened last night when the truck suddenly went off the road and rolled down the gorge near Sanwal in Chamba's Churah subdivision, he added.
The SP said the bodies had been retrieved and handed over to the kin after conducting the postmortem while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were undergoing treatment.
A case of rash and negligent driving had been registered at Tissa police station and further investigation was on, he said.
