Two Kundaghat reservoir project guards hacked to death

Two night guards of the Kundaghat reservoir project in Bihar's Jamui district have been hacked to death and investigation is on to ascertain whether LWEs were involved, police said today.

Superintendent of Police Jayantkant said the incident took place yesterday night when three guards were on duty to keep secure the equipment and other materials of the project.

While two guards were hacked to death in a field near Dudhpaniya village, the third managed to escape, he said.

The killed guards have been identified, he added.

The SP and Sikandra police station SHO, Veerbhadra Singh reached the spot this morning.
 

The reason behind the killings is being investigated, the SP said adding it was also being probed awhether it was the handiwork of left wing extremists.
