Two labourers engaged in illegal sand mine work killed

Two labourers were killed when an alleged illegal sand mine they were digging, caved in today, trapping them under it near Choti Kasrawad area, a police official said.

The victims were relatives and engaged in mining sand illegally when the mishap occurred, sub-inspector, Santosh Savle said.

The deceased were identified as Nanuram Badole (22) and his cousin Sunil Badole (20), he added.

Despite Bhopal based National Green Tribunal imposing ban on mining on the banks of river Narmada sometime back, the menace continues in the area, a local activist said.
