A vain attempt by DMK members in the Assembly to raise the issue of affixing AIADMK's party symbol 'two leaves' on the sides of the newly launched small buses in the city, led to their eviction after the Speaker disallowed their request.

Speaker P Dhanapal repeatedly tried to pacify the DMK legislators after which he ordered the marshals to evict them from the house. Their remarks were expunged from the records.

"Is this a government bus or an AIADMK bus? Parties can form a government. A government can by driven by a party's policy but it cannot use party's symbol in its schemes," DMK legislator Durai Murugan said.

He was speaking to reporters outside the Assembly along with other party legislators, who held aloft photographs of the small buses with the two leaves symbol on them.

DMK legislature leader M K Stalin also echoed his colleague's comments.

Stalin recalled incidents in the past, as stated by Durai Murugan when the previous DMK government had effected changes after the opposition alleged that some structures resembled party symbols and charged the AIADMK government with using its symbol on government buses.
