Two Maoist supporters were today arrested from Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district, police said.

Gangaram Dhurve and Naresh Porte, both sympathisers of Naxals, were apprehended when a joint team of security forces was carrying out a search operation in Bakarkatta police station area, a local police official told PTI.

The composite squad of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and district force had lunched the operation in the interiors of Bakarkatta, around 150km from Raipur, he said.

Maoist pamphlets and banners were recovered from their possession, he said.

The two were allegedly engaged in arranging food and commodities of daily use for the rebels besides extending help in putting up posters and banners for Maoists in the area, the official said.
