Two married women commit suicide in Barmer

Two married women allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in Rajasthan's Barmer district, police said today.

A 35-year-old mother of four children, Hathudevi, hanged herself from a tree at Adarsh Chuli village in Barmer rural police station area last evening.

Hathudevi, wife of Gordhan Ram Jat, was under depression for some time, investigating officer Narpat Singh said.

In another incident at Nagadaha village in Sheo area, Badam Kanwar (24) consumed poison in her house. She was rushed to the Barmer Government Hospital where she was declared brought dead, the police said.

Kanwar's parents, who live in neighbouring Gujarat, have been informed about the suicide, police added.
