Two militants shot down; 3 CRPF jawans injured in gunbattle

Two militants were killed and three CRPF jawans injured in an exchange of fire after the ultras attacked a paramilitary force contingent in south Kashmir's Pulwama district today, police said.

A group of militants attacked the CRPF party near Pampore causing injuries to three CRPF personnel, a police official said.

In the retaliatory firing two militants were killed, he said.

The operation is on as two more militants are believed to be hiding in the vicinity of the scene of encounter, the official said, adding, the injured jawans have been rushed to a hospital.
