Two minor girls trafficked from West Bengal on the pretext of marriage were rescued from here by a team of Delhi Police.

The two 16-year-old girls were rescued from Ganganagar area here after the police yesterday raided a house here acting on a tip off. The girls' parents are beggars in Delhi's Jama Masjid area, they said.

A woman identified as Rakhi has been taken into custody for allegedly trying to sell the girls through an organised trafficking racket, police said.

It was revealed during interrogation that Rakhi master minded the racket which deals in trafficking of girls in the Delhi-NCR region.

The accused had met parents of the girls a few days back and had convinced them to send the girls with her, on the pretext of getting them married, police said.
