Two minor girls today drowned in a pond in Malakjosh Patti village in Chanda area here, police said.
The incident took place when Sabreen (14) and Shabeena (12) jumped into the pond to save a girl Aafrin, who slipped into deep water, they said.
While they succeeded in saving Aafrin, but both of them drowned.
Later, villagers reached the spot and fished out the bodies of victims, said police.
