Two girls in the age group of four and five today fell down in a ditch filled with water while playing and drowned in Bihar's Nalanda district, police said.
Himanshi Kumari and Tannu Kumari of Parmanand Bigha village under Noorsarai police station area were playing near a brick kiln where a ditch had been formed because of lifting of earth over a period of time.
The two girls suddenly fell into the ditch which was full of water and drowned, police said.
The bodies have been fished out and sent to Bihar Sharif sadar hospital for post mortem.
