Two mobile phones were recovered from Ambala Central jail today after an unknown person threw a packet from outside the prison's boundary wall, police said.
They said that some unknown person had thrown a packet from outside the jail boundary wall in the jail premises which was recovered by jail warden Mohan Singh.
On the complaint of jail authorities, a case was registered against unknown person in the Baldevnagar police station at Ambala City.
He later handed over the packet to the jail superintendent and two mobile phones, two sim cards and two batteries were found in the packet.
The police have registered a case and were investigating the matter.
Earlier, the jail authorities had recovered mobile phones from the inmates.
