Two more prisoners die in Muzaffarnagar

Two more prisoners of the district jail died in separate incidents here, police said today.

The number of death toll has risen to 3 in as many days, they said.

According to jail sources, undertrial Sudhir Kumar(30) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling in the prison here yesterday.

Sudhir was arrested in a case of attempt to murder here on September 1. This is the second incident of suicide in a jail. Two days back, Sumit allegedly committed suicide in a jail barrack, they added.

Meanwhile, 40-year-old Kalla, undergoing his sentence in the district jail in a case of illegally possessing arms, died due to illness here, police said today.
 

Kalla was a patient of tuberculosis. He was rushed to a district hospital where he was declared brought dead yesterday, Mizazi Lal, jailor of the district jail said.

Lal has confired that three prisoners died in separate incidents during the past three days.
