Two MP Government officials trapped by Lokayukta Police

Lokayukta Police today caught two Madhya Pradesh Government officials for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a private school director for restoring his institute's recognition.

The officials are - a Reader at the District collector office and a clerk of the District Education Office (DEO) here.

The clerk, Sunil Sharma, demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from Hans Vahini Gyan Mandir School Director Ram Babu Sharma for restoring the recognition of his school, Lokayukta DSP Jairam Raghuwanshi said.

The recognition of the school situated in Chhapiheda area near here was cancelled in October 2015. Following this, the Director approached the DEO, where the clerk demanded bribe to restore the school's restoration, he said.
 

Acting on a tip-off from Ram Babu, Lokayukta officials laid a trap and caught the clerk in the office of Reader, Omprakash Pushpad, who had taken the money in the presence of Sunil.

A case under Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against them in this regard and further investigations are on.
