Two naxalites of CPI-ML Janashakti group held

Two naxalites of CPI-ML Janashakti group were arrested on the outskirts of Jillella village in neighbouring Rajanna Sircilla district, police said Saturday.

A Mauser pistol, 9 mm rounds (15), Rs 44,600, three mobile phones and a motorcycle were seized from them, Superintendent of Police BK Rahul Hegde said.

The arrested were identified as Jakkula Babu (38) of Chinna Lingapur village of Tangallapalli mandal, said to be the district committee secretary of CPI-ML Janashakti group and Thokala Srikanth (28) of Ramannapalli village.

According to police, two persons were found moving suspiciously on a two-wheeler at Jillella checkpost on Friday and interrogation revealed that they belonged to the CPI-ML Janashakti group.
