Two Naxalites were arrested and as many surrendered in adjoining Gadchiroli district, police said today.
Those arrested were identified as Sanjay Shankar Mangu (23) and Rukhmi Shantabai Halami (22). Both were involved in nearly a dozen separate gunfights with police in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra's worst Maoist-affected district, they said.
The duo was produced before a local court which remanded them in judicial custodial till September 24, Gadchiroli Police said in a release.
In another development, two Naxalies surrendered before the district authorities. They were identified as Aruna Rukhma Narote (22) and Sainath Katia, a 'Platoon Commander', it added.
