Two Naxals, one of them allegedly involved in the deadly attack on CRPF personnel in April this year, were today arrested from Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, police said.

"Podiyami Mukka (42) was held from an area under Jagargunda police station, while Laxman Muchaki alias Lakha (20) was arrested from Kukanar police station limits," a police official said.

Security forces have been conducting search operations in Chintalnar, Chintagufa and Jagargunda areas of the district following the April 24 ambush at Burkapal.

Mukka, who is the head of Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisaan Mazdoor Sangthan, a front organisation of Maoists, was involved in the April 24 attack in Burkapal in which 25 CRPF jawans were killed, the official said.

Lakha is a member of jan-militia squad and was allegedly involved in the attack on police in Kunna-Dabba village in 2014, he said.

A local court remanded both in judicial custody.
