Two Nepalese arrested for cheating over Bollywood show

Two persons have been arrested in Nepal for cheating people by selling tickets worth millions of rupees in the pretext of organising a Bollywood show, according to police.

Simant Gurung,38, director of Our Dreams Co, and its supervisor Ravin Kesi, 28, were arrested and presented before the Kathmandu District Court today. They were remanded to custody for five days. They have been charged with fraud case, police said.

They have sold tickets worth millions of rupees in the pretext of presenting a programme of Salman Khan in Kathmandu few months ago. However, the show never took place.

The organisers claim that they had received threat from a Maoist faction led by Netra Bikam Chand and were asked not to organise the show.

 

Some 30,000 people were expected to attend the show for which tickets were sold priced ranging from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 30,000.

The organisers had said that the show was just postponed not cancelled and it would be rescheduled soon.
