The city police arrested two alleged Nigerian cocaine peddlers today from the Maredpally area here and seized 17 grams of cocaine from them, a senior police official said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police N Koti Reddy of the Commissioner's Task Force (North Zone) said that sleuths apprehended the two Nigerian nationals, namely Mike Justus alias 'Victor' and Olisha Joe, while they tried to sell cocaine.

The duo had come to India on a tourist visa initially. Later they began exporting fabrics to their country from Mumbai for the past few months, on a business visa, the police official said.

"Intending to earn money easily, the duo decided to supply narcotic drugs to customers. After procuring 17 grams cocaine from some of their friends, both of them came to Secunderabad to sell it to customers, when they were nabbed," the senior police officer said.

The duo did not possess any passports or visa copies and moved through different states without any valid documents by violating the Passport Act rules, the officer said, adding that further investigations are on.
