Two Nigerians held with narcotics, cash

Two Nigerian nationals were today arrested here for their alleged involvement in narcotics trade, with several pouches of cocaine and heroin besides 5.2 kgs of ganja recovered from them, police said.

Acting on credible information, police arrested the duo, who came to India on business visas, in the morning hours at their residence at Shaikpet here, according to a police release.

Police seized different quantities of the contraband - 14 pouches containing cocaine, seven pouches of heroin, 5.2 kgs of ganja, two passports, Rs 21,000 in cash, a two-wheeler and two mobile phones.

The arrested duo, along with the seized items, will be produced before a local court by Golkonda Police for judicial remand, the release added.
