Anosh Ekka and Bhanu Pratap Shahi, the two of four former cabinet colleagues of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, have won the assembly elections.
Ekka defeated BJP's Manoj Nagasia by 17,143 votes from Kolibera seat while Shahi regained Bhawanathpur seat beating Anant Pratap Deo of BJP by 2661 votes.
However, NCP's Kamlesh Singh and JMM's Hari Narayan Ray were not so lucky, losing Hussainabad and Jarmundi constituencies respectively.

Koda himself lost in Majhgaon to JMM's Niral Purty by 11,182 votes.
The common feature of Koda, Singh, Ekka, Shahi and Ray is that all are on bail after being in jail for several months in connection with various corruption cases slapped against them from 2009 onwards.
Ekka is also facing a murder charge.
