Two people arrested with one kg of opium in Samba

Two persons were today arrested and six packets of opium of one kg each seized from them in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Om Prakash and Daljeet Singh were arrested after a truck was intercepted by a police team during patrolling at SIDCO Chowk in the district, a police officer said.

During searches, 6 packets of opium of one Kg each, hidden below the driver's seat were seized from their possession, he said.

The accused persons deposed that they have made 5-6 deliveries of the contraband in the area and the consignment was taken from Siliguri and Assam, the officer said.
