in the killing of a JMM block president's wife and son, were arrested from Baskendri village in Pakur district today, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted raid in the house of Nasim Ansari, a prime accused in the killing of Lakhi Devi, who was the wife of Amrapara Block President of JMM Mantu Bhagat, and his four-and-half year-old son on July 6 last, and arrested him, superintendent of police Mayur Patel said.
Acting on the lead provided by Ansari, the police also arrested his accomplice Shajahan Sheik from the village.
The subsequent interrogation led police to recover the sword used in committed the crime, he said.
The sword was dumped in a pond in Kolkipara and also the mobile phone snatched from the Devi.
Both the accused were sent to jail.
