The mishap took place as the speeding truck lost control and crushed to death two pedestrians, identified as Akhilesh Sharma and Raju Yadav, Superintendent of Police Nishant Tiwari said.
The truck driver was injured after the vehicle rammed into a tree, he said.
The injured was admitted to Sadar hospital for treatment.
The local people blocked NH-31 between Patna and Ranchi to protest against the accident and demanded compensation to the kins of the victims, Tiwari said.
Local officials rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.
