Two persons were killed when a tanker carrying chemicals skidded off the highway and rolled down into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district, a police official said today.
A tanker carrying industrial chemical on on its way from Udhampur to Srinagar skidded off the highway at Mehar in Ramban district late last night, the officer said.
Both driver and conductor of the tanker died and their bodies were recovered and kept in a mortuary in Ramban, he said. The deceased were identified as driver Mohmmad Hanief and conductor Iqbal from south Kashmir, the official said.
