Two persons killed in a road accident in Bhagalpur

Two persons were killed when a speeding truck hit the motorcycle they were riding in Bhagalpur district today, police said.

Khurshid Ansari (30) and Mohammad Afroz Ansari (35) were going to Narayanpur village when a speeding truck hit their motorcycle near Marwa village on NH 31, Station House Officer (SHO) of Jhandapur police station, Jawaharlal Singh said.

Angry relatives of the deceased and local villagers blocked the NH for four hours in protest against the incident.

The blockade was lifted after Naugachhia, Sub-Divisional Officer, Aditya Prakash announced the payment of ex-gratia amount of Rs 4 lakh to the deceased's family.
