Two persons killed in jeep-truck collision in Raj

Two persons were killed and as many others injured when a jeep in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck at Bhankari in Dausa district in the wee hours today.

The jeep, loaded with passengers, was on way from Kolva village to Dausa district when it collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction on Dausa-Alwar rural road, senior police officer of SADAR Police station of Dausa Ramesh Chandra told PTI.

The deceased were identified as jeep driver Mohanlal Saini (22), and a passenger Ravi Bairwa (23), he said.

Two injured women were admitted to Dausa hospital, he said, adding, two kids sleeping on their lap escaped unhurt.
 

The truck driver fled leaving the vehicle, he said.

Meanwhile, in another incident late last night a woman was killed while her husband and son were injured when an autorikshaw in which they were travelling was hit by a roadways bus near Chinkara canteen here, police said.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sukhdevi, they said.
