Two persons were killed by a group at a tribal village in Odisha's Rayagada district following suspicions that they were practising sorcery, police said today.
Lotora Pidiaka (65) and Apadu Melaka (57) of Nathama village were attacked and killed last night by locals who held them responsible for the death of a 10-year-old local boy last month, accusing them of practising sorcery, police said.
Their bodies were thrown into a nearby river and efforts are on to recover the bodies, said Rabi Patra, Inspector In-charge of Rayagada police station.
At least four persons have been detained for interrogation in connection with the incident, he added.
