The mishap occured as a speeding jeep ran amok and hit a motocycle with three occupants before knocking down a bicycle on which two persons were riding, the sources said.
An unidentified motorcyclist and a cylist were killed on the spot, while three persons sustained injuries, they said adding the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured admitted to hospital for treatment.
The incident sparked off a protest by the local people who blocked the highway demanding compensation to the families of the victims.
