Two persons succumb to intense cold conditions in UP

Two persons died in separate incidents here due to intense cold conditions prevailing in the region, police said today.

Body of a 35-year-old man was found in Kotwali police station area, while another body was recovered on Delhi-Saharanpur passenger train at Shamli Railway station here yesterday, police said.

According to the police, they succumbed to the intense cold conditions in the region.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said.

Cold wave conditions prevailed at a few places over eastern region and many places over western parts of Uttar Pradesh and the lowest temperature yesterday in the state was recorded at 2.4 degree Celsius in Muzaffarnagar.
