Two persons suffer severe burns after cylinder explosion

A 30-year-old woman and her 5-year-old son were today seriously injured in a fire incident caused by the explosion of a petromax cylinder in their house in Dwarka here, Delhi Fire Services officials said.

Both the injured have been admitted in the burn ward at Safdurjung Hospital. The woman, who has been identified as Preetama, has received 80 per cent burns while her son Rama received 70 per cent burns.

Two fire tenders rushed to the spot, near the Municipal Corporation of Delhi School in Dwarka's Sector 19 after a call was received at 11:55 am, they said.

In an another incident, a fire broke out in the parking lot of AIIMS hospital here. The cause of the fire is not known.
 

After a call was received at 12:40pm, a single fire tender was rushed to the spot. No casualty has been reported, fire officials added.
