Karnataka State Election Commission today said that elections to 5,844 Grama Panchayats in the state will be held in two phases.
Fifteen districts of the state including Mysuru, Mandya, Udupi will go to polls on May 29.
While the issuance of the election notification for the first phase is scheduled for May 11, counting will be taken up on June 5, state election commission said in a statement here.

The second phase of polls for panchayats in the other fifteen districts that include Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Tumkuru, Kolar and others will be held on June 2.
The date of issuance of notification for the second phase is on May 15 and counting of votes will take place on June 5, the statement said.
The schedule for elections to 5,844 Grama Panchayats out of total 6,073 in all the 30 districts of the state was announced today, excluding 229 grama panchayats whose term expires after August 2015, those which are notified for upgradation and those which are subjected to stay order of the High Court, it said.
