Two policemen gunned down by Maoists in Godda

Two policemen were today killed in an encounter with Maoists in Godda district.

The gun battle began after the police went on a search operation following a tip-off about Maoist movement under Sundarpahari police station of the district, Godda Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Kumar said.

The SP said while two police personnel were killed in the encounter, three rebels were hit by bullets.

One SLR and other materials were recovered from the spot.
