Two policemen held for taking bribe of Rs 10,000

Two policemen were arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said today.

C Raju, a Sub-Inspector posted at Vangoor police station, was caught by ACB officials last evening while accepting the bribe amount from a person for giving bail to him and his brother's son in a case of illicit liquor, the anti-graft agency said in a release here.

On the instruction of the SI, Constable G Radhavender Rao received the bribe amount, counted it and handed over to Raju, it said.

After recovery of the bribe amount, the two were placed under arrest.
