Two policemen were killed and five others injured when a truck in which they were travelling collided with a private truck in Ajmer.

"The police truck was on its way to Jaipur from Jalore to collect wireless sets for elections when it collided with the truck coming from opposite direction, leaving head constable Hanuman Prasad and constable Bhim Singh dead on the spot," investigating officer Chhitar Singh said.

The injured were rushed to JLN government hospital in Ajmer, where two of them were given primary treatment, he said.

The other truck, loaded with LPG cylinders, has been seized. The driver, however, escaped the scene. A hunt is on to nab him, Singh said.
