Two policemen were suspended and a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) was registered against them today for allegedly raping a minor girl here, police said.

Also, a warning has been issued against Circle Officer Rakesh Vashistha, Govind Nagar SHO Inspector Ram Pal Singh and 'Dial-100' Incharge Pahup Singh, SSP Swapnil Mamgai said.

He said the policemen have been booked under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 376 (punishment for rape) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

They have been suspended, the SSP said.

Police said the accused allegedly raped the girl in front of her younger sister recently in a guest house under the Govind Nagar Police station.

It is alleged that an FIR was not registered when the victim's father approached Ram Pal Singh and Circle Officer Vashistha.

He then approached Laxmi Gautam, the head of Kanak Dhara Foundation, Vrindaban, who took the matter to press and it came to the notice of SSP Mamgai.

The SSP sent the two personnel to police line and ordered an inquiry by SP (security) Siddharth Verma.

The two police personnel were found guilty in the enquiry report submitted to SSP Mamgai, sources said.
