Two quacks held for supplying arms, fake medicines

Two persons were arrested for supplying arms and fake medicines from a roadside stall near Sanjay Geeta Chowk here and a large cache including country-made pistols was recovered from them, police said today.

Rajpal and Dharmendra, hailing from Sambhal and Moradabad respectively, were arrested around 9.45 pm last night after a tip-off, SHO Avneesh Gautam said, adding two of their accomplices managed to escape.

Eight country-made pistols, 10 live cartridges and several herbs including sleeping pills were recovered from their possession. The duo confessed to supplying arms in NCR and their association with an illegal arms gang, he said.

The SHO said the men sold sedative-laced medicines to their customers and looted them after they became unconscious.
 

The duo have been sent to jail and a hunt is on nab their accomplices, Gautam said.
