The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Police jawans today seized two quintals of ganja worth lakhs of rupees from a train at Katihar junction, official sources said.
During a joint search operation in Guwahati-Dadar Express, the RPF and Railway Police jawans recovered the consignment of ganja contained in five sacks from under sleeper coaches, the sources said.
No arrest has been made in this connection as nobody came forward to claim the contraband substance, they said.
The consignment of ganja was brought from North-East states for transportation by train to metropolitan cities like Mumbai and Delhi where the contraband substance has big market, the sources added.
