Two rallyists killed, 25 others injured in road accidents

Two rallyists who were returning home after attending the 'Swabhiman Rally' in Patna were killed and 25 others injured in separate road accidents in Muzaffarpur and Begusarai districts in the early hours today.

A bus in which the rallyists were returning to their native Madhubani district from the state capital collided with a truck on NH-57 near Maithi village in which two passengers were killed on the spot and ten others injured, Gaighat police station in-charge Sanjay Pathak said.

The injured were taken to Sadar hospital and efforts were on to ascertain the identity of the victims, he said.

In a separate accident, 15 rallyists sustained injuries after a Khagaria-bound minibus lost control and rammed into road divider before overturning at Harhar Mahadev chowk on NH-31 in Begusarai district, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said.
 

The injured have been admitted to Sadar hospital, he said.
