Two robbers, wanted by the Chandigarh Police in several cases, were today killed in an encounter on the Moga bypass road, police said.
According to Moga Superintendent of Police Harjit Singh Pannu, the robbers were killed by a police team that was following them.
The robbers fired at the police team when they were about to be caught, he said.
Pannu said the police team zeroed-in on the robbers when they were standing near the by-pass.
One of the robbers has been identified as Sukhwinder Singh of Moga.
