Shri Bhagwan, Sarpanch of Mehrana village, and Santosh Devi, sarpanch of Utlaudha village here were suspended with immediate effect following serious allegations level against them by co-villagers.

Orders to this effect were issued by Jhajjar Deputy Commissioner Ajit Balaji Joshi on Wednesday.

"Shri Bhagwan has been suspended following some serious complaints lodged against him by some villagers wherein he was charged with committing embezzlement in development works, whereas serious allegations of encroachment on public property have been leveled against Santosh Devi," Joshi said.
