At a function here, the state JD(U) president Vashishtha Narayan Singh welcomed the duo in his party-fold and said that their entry would strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in his efforts to bring development with justice in Bihar.

Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhary and Bhagat reposed faith in the leadership of the Chief Minister and ideology of the JD(U) and said that they will serve the party and the state without greed for power or any related benefits.

The duo, who had served in RJD governments, slammed the party supremo Lalu Prasad for dictatorial style of functioning and said that they decided to quit the party as there was no inner party democracy or any respect for ordinary leaders and workers.

Chaudhary and Bhagat, who have been important leaders in Bihar's Siwan districts for over two decades, said that they had resigned from the membership and all posts of the RJD in July last year and were waiting for green signal from the JD(U) leadership to join the party.
