Two sent to 14 days judicial custody in lawyer killing case

Two persons arrested for allegedly murdering a Meerut-based lawyer have been sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a local court here, police said today.

Two brothers Shahnawaz and Shahnazar were produced in the court which sent them to judicial custody, they said.

The two accused were arrested last evening and as many pistols were recovered from them, they said, adding that the remaining accused Shahbaz and Zahid Rana are still absconding.

A Meerut-based lawyer Rajiv Upadhyay was allegedly shot dead by Shahnazar and his family members when he came to meet the latter's wife Arshi yesterday. Rajiv and Arshi were allegedly in an illegitimate relationship, police said.
