Two shops damaged in fire at Chandni Chowk

Two shops were today damaged in a fire at a market in Chandni Chowk, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said.

A call was received at 5.40 pm that a fire had broken out in a sari shop and a store selling luggage bags in Naya Katra, an official from the DFS said.

Eight firetenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused within an hour, he said.

The loss is suspected to be in lakhs. It is suspected that the fire could have broken out due to a short-circuit.
